The Heckler & Koch MP7A1 is a personal defence weapon or ( PDW ) For short that can be used as a primary and or secondary.

The MP7 platform was designed to meet NATO requirements as the military required something that was able to penetrate soviet KEVLAR body armour, which the current .45 ACP and 9x19 calibres in service were incapable of. With enemy combatants equipped in soft armour on the rise, the 4.6x30mm round was quickly becoming more popular and it became a favoured round, thus throwing the MP7 into popularity.

This UMAREX / H&K MP7A1 certainly doesn't shy away from being true to its real steel counterpart, from a first glance the gun carries all of the aesthetic characteristics we've come to love, as UMAREX hold all the rights to decorate the MP7 in it's truest form with all the authentic Heckler & Koch markings displayed across the gun.

The front end of the gun features a classic 4.6x30mm MP7 flash hider, which is fitted to a 12mm Clockwise thread on the outer barrel, as well as the unique MP7A1 classic folding foregrip which is fitted to the lower body of the gun and when unfolded provides a stable bracing platform when shooting which allows your hand to seat perfectly into the end cap while your thumb mounts over the chamfered upper, creating a secure and comfortable grip.

Along the side of the handguard you will find two threaded bolt holes, this is for fitting 20mm rail sections for the addition of laser light modules and illumination devices to meet the requirements of your combat scenario. Along the top you've got an 11" 20mm RIS rail for the addition of sights, scopes and special optics alike as well as top mounted PEQ-15's or Laser / light modules. Along this rail you will also see a front and rear sight, both of which have a double function capability. When folded down the rear iron sights remain low profile and do not protrude into your sight picture however they do offer a square valley and notch style compact rear iron, so if you don't get time or chance to deploy your flip up irons you can rest assured that they're pre-fitted with back up irons which means less time faffing and more time shooting. When flipped up the iron sights present in a classic H&K style, your rear iron is a vertical framed cylindrical centre hole which hugs the pitchfork style front sight, allowing for the centre aiming point to line up at eye level once the gun is shouldered.

Other features that decorate the gun are the H&K classic fire selector colours, with full auto displaying four red projectiles, semi automatic displaying one red projectile and safe showing a white boxed bullet with an X through it, to indicate that your fire control is locked. You'll also find the H&K bolt release system on both the left and right side of the gun, this is shaped like a wing or as we like to see it, a robots foot. Once the gun is dry on ammo the bolt will lock back to notify you, then once you've fitted a new full magazine you can press the bolt release down and return the gun to battery to continue firing.

The trigger features a very similar style to the GLOCK, in the fact that it will not fire unless the centre-trigger is engaged first, otherwise the main trigger will remain locked. Native to the trigger is the magazine release, which is very small however easily locatable again on both sides of the gun just on the lower back side of the trigger guard which looks a little like a pedal, pushing this down will release your magazine. The pistol grip is decorated with "HK MP7A1" along with H&K's patented 3D texture enhancement, as well as stippling to provide a strong and secure grip  no matter the contact surface. Lastly we have the stock which is retractable as to be expected to a total of two points, this can be released / retracted / extended via the release catch on the right hand side of the gun just by the charging handle, which is a butterfly style charging handle which allows the shooter to press both sides in and pull back, which will chamber a round and engage your trigger.

Of course, the best feature of the UMAREX H&K MP7A1 is the fact that it's gas blowback, now only is it ULTRA REALISTIC, it's got a shoulder punching and jaw rattling recoil system, which is always a pleasure to fire, even if you're not hitting anything - you look cool AF, who cares!

The gun comes with an UMAREX manual and a 40 rd Green Gas Magazine, which is to be loaded via a speed loader from the bottom end of the mag, whatever you do: DO NOT LET GO OF THE FOLLOWER! If you allow the follower to ping up against the feed lips it may cause them to snap, that's a whole lot of energy in the super strong spring and the last thing you want is a broken mag, so ensure that you get a good grip on your follower before pulling it to the bottom and guide it back up when finished loading.
