The M16A1 Colt M603 replica from the CGS Vietnam series is a faithful reproduction of one of the most recognizable rifles used by the US armed forces during the Vietnam War. The M16A1 model was a development of earlier AR-15 designs and in the 1960s became the standard weapon of the US Army, introducing numerous improvements that enhanced the reliability and ergonomics of the firearm. The replica was developed in CYMA, T8 (SP System),  combining the historical styling of the classic M16 rifle with a modern Gas Blowback system. The applied CGS (CYMA Gas System) ensures realistic operation of the mechanism, noticeable recoil, and very natural shooting experience.
Classic M16A1 construction
The replica design reproduces solutions characteristic of M16A1 rifles, which began to be widely used by US armed forces in the late 1960s. The construction uses a full fence type lower receiver, which was the standard in later variants of the AR-15 platform.

The replica is also equipped with an upper receiver with forward assist, used in constructions produced from around 1967. This solution allowed manual closing of the bolt in emergency situations.

A Bird Cage (A1) type flash hider was also used, which replaced earlier designs used in the first variants of the M16 rifle.
The replica also reproduces other characteristic construction details, such as a round forged upper, front sight base with bayonet lug, front sling mount attached with a spring roll pin, and the classic slip ring handguard mounting used in constructions of that period.

The construction also maintains the appropriate styling of the bolt carrier group, a gray-colored bolt carrier was used, typical for M16A1 rifles. Thanks to these details, the replica very faithfully reproduces the appearance and character of M16A1 rifles, which played a key role during the Vietnam War.

The replica was made under Colt Industries license, thanks to which it features authentic manufacturer markings and faithfully reproduced construction details of the original firearm. The external construction is made of high-quality aluminum, while key mechanical components are made of steel, which increases durability and resistance to intensive use.
Reinforced steel construction
To increase durability, the manufacturer used steel external components in the most stressed areas of the replica. These include, among others, the flash hider / muzzle device, forged front sight, bolt catch, magazine release, trigger, construction pins, magazine, forward assist, and dust cover. The use of steel components in these key areas significantly increases resistance to wear during intensive use, while also making it a solid base for further modifications and tuning.
