The L85 has been the stock rifle for the British Army since 1987.
It's no secret that anyone who served during that time knows, it wasn't the easiest shotgun to get along with.
H&K redesigned the L85 and delivered the A3 version with impact modifications. The A3 switched to using a "floating barrel", improving accuracy.
To implement this rod, it was necessary to redesign the handguard which is now much more elegant in design and features a Keymod attachment interface.
The top and bottom rails are standard picatinny (20mm RIS).
The A3 also benefits from a full-length slide along the top of the rifle. This allows for greater versatility for optics and aiming systems.
